Hosting Elvin Guri, Investor, Entreprenur and Philantropist!
On February 17th we had the distinguished pleasure to host Elvin Guri, an investor with an experience of 26 years in the regional markets and widely known in Albania for his investment in One Telecommunications.
The interview was moderated by Aneida Bajraktari Bicja, the chapter Director of Startup Grind Tirana and the CEO and Co-founder of Balkans Capital Financial Services.
Elvin shared with us his journey as an entrepreneur and investor while giving us very impacting advices. He said that one is not born as an entrepreneur, but is shaped into one thanks to the willingness to learn, take risks and be productive. You do not need to be a genius to have your own business, rather you need to understand the functionality of your idea and develop it in a way it can be adaptable to the environment around you, thus reaching success.
Elvin also stated that it’s very important to understand that professional skills are learned, but moral values are an aspect that can’t. He took the example of One Telecommunication, where the company has an ongoing success thanks to the professional teams.
“We invested in One Telecommunications because we understood that it only needed a restructuring, but this would be impossible without 400 staff professionals of One and over 450 other who are part of our partnership network. Thus, the investment in One Telecommunication is one of my most memorable experiences in these 26 years”.
Elvin surely energized our mindset and impacted our knowledge on investing, entrepreneurship and definition of success in these aspects. Thank you Elvin Guri for sharing your story on this fireside chat with our ever-learning community of Startup Grind Tirana.
Thank you to our supporting partners Balkans Capital-Financial Services, Business Magazine Albania, Sipri Gift, Elvis Gorica Photography, Global Entrepreneurship Week Albania, Cancri Marketing and Albania Tech.
